Karen Wood: Vice President – Client Services
The seminal moment in Karen’s life didn’t come during her art and literature degree at McMaster University, or during her post-graduate studies in Interactive Multimedia at Sheridan College.
Karen insists it came when she discovered Napster (!). It was at this moment (well, hours, actually, as she was on dial-up), while reveling in a bit of music therapy, that Karen felt her career path was about to change. So she promptly took her love of art and writing, blended it with her admittedly geeky tendencies to “get” computers, and turned it into nine years of website design and development, a career that included awards of excellence in website design and multimedia.
As Karen’s career took many roads—designer, developer, business analyst, project and account management—she now has a skill set that allows her to speak to all areas of web design, from overseeing the user interface and experience components of a website to acting as liaise between clients and our development team. As Vice President – Client Services, Karen works with all Thrillworks clients, helping them determine their business requirements for their online properties and translating those needs into an online strategy. While not working, Karen enjoys reading, Rock Band, and making sure that all her downloaded music has album cover artwork. (The Napster would be proud.)
